William “Bill” Dixon Shipley, age 62, a lifelong resident of Tyngsborough, passed away after a long illness on Monday, June 26, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Doreen Clara (Boulard) Shipley, to whom he was married for 40 years.
He was born in Lowell on September 21, 1960, and was a son of the late Herbert F. and Theresa M. (Abreau) Shipley. He received his education in Tyngsborough schools and was a graduate of Tyngsborough High School where he loved music and playing the drums.
He enjoyed horseshoes, pool, cribbage, boating, camping, and sitting by the fire throughout his life.
Surviving him in addition to his loving wife Doreen are two sons and two daughters-in-law, William Shipley and his wife Heather of Hooksett, NH and Nicholas Shipley and his wife Bethany of Manchester, NH; three granddaughters, Addison, Eliyanah, and Emmalyn; his late sister, Susan Bordeleau who passed in January and her husband Gerard "Chuck” of Tyngsborough; and his sister Lisa Tremblay and her husband Robert of Tyngsborough; also several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Drive, Tyngsborough, on Thursday, July 6, from 4 to 7 p.m. His Funeral Service will take place on Friday morning at 10 a.m. at the Evangelical Congregational Church of Tyngsborough, 23 Kendall Rd., Tyngsborough. Burial will follow in Tyngsborough Memorial Cemetery. Those wishing may make a memorial donation in his name to the Tufts Medicine Care at Home, Attn: Community Engagement, 360 Merrimack St., Suite 425, Lawrence, MA 01843.
