Wayne Arthur Farrow

Wayne Arthur Farrow, age 75, a longtime resident of Tyngsborough, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 9, 2022, at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, with his family by his side.  He was the high school sweetheart and beloved husband of Sharyn A. (Pelletier) Farrow for over 58 years. 

Born in Lowell, MA on April 8, 1947, he was a son of the late Wilbur and Helen (Bell) Farrow and was a graduate of Lowell High School.

He was a proud Veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the US Army from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1969. 

After returning home from the service, Wayne worked alongside his father for many years at their family owned and operated Shurfine Market in Tyngsboro center.  After his father’s retirement, Wayne continued to operate the market until it was sold in 1983.  Prior to retirement in 2012, he was an Independent Distributor for Little Debbie Snacks for 25 years. 

Once retired, Wayne and his wife Sharyn, spent winters in Lillian, Alabama, where he was active with the Lillian Community Club and the American Legion Post 48. When they returned back home to Tyngsborough for the summers, Wayne stayed active working at Ayotte’s Stateline and spending time with friends at the Hudson VFW Post 5791.

Wayne enjoyed camping, playing solitaire and spending time with family and friends and he loved endlessly serving his wife.

Surviving him, in addition to his wife, are two daughters and a son-in-law, Stacey and Roger Lee Farrar of Merrimack, NH and Pamela Hardy and her partner Steven Gain of N. Chelmsford; four grandchildren, Mason Hardy and his girlfriend Hillary Spanos, Ashley Farrar and her boyfriend Alex Pittman, Courtney Farrar and her boyfriend Alex Bradley and Miranda Hardy; a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Jack Deeney of Naples, FL; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Tootsie Farrow of Lillian, AL; Sharyn’s siblings and their spouses; nieces and nephews; many dear friends from his years in the service, including Dave Dion of Hudson, NH; his Alabama family and his Ayotte’s family. 

 

Relatives and friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough on Thursday, Sept. 15, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.  A Funeral Home Service will take place immediately following at 12:15 p.m. Burial will be private in Thompson Cemetery, Tyngsborough.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation in his memory to the American Legion Post 48, 34148 Widell Ave., Lillian, AL 36549.
