Thomas "Tom" Lord Obituary

Thomas “Tom” Lord, a resident of Tyngsborough, passed away suddenly on Monday, April 21, 2025, at the age of 57.

He was born at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Kittery, ME, on October 29, 1967 and was the son of the late Ronald L. Lord Sr. and the late Irene C. (Champoux) Lord.  Tom was educated in the Lowell School system and was a graduate of Greater Lowell Technical High School.

Tom was well known in the Greater Lowell area and was the co-owner and operator of 3 Brothers Towing along with his brother Ron in Chelmsford. His company 3 Brothers Towing was Tom’s passion, everyone knew Tom from 3 Brothers. He enjoyed being the boss every other week, chatting with his customers and extending his generosity to anyone who needed his help.

Tom enjoyed many different hobbies. Racing was a big part of his life, He enjoyed going to and racing at Hudson Speedway. Tom also enjoyed watching his daughter, brothers, and nieces’ race. Tom enjoyed spending time with his foster grandchildren Talia and Izzy. He loved watching their sports, receiving pictures they drew for him, as well as playing card games like WAR. He was a frequent donor to the Mass Lottery, playing his KENO and scratch tickets, as well as going to the casinos “just for a little bit”. He had a love of motorcycles and going to bike week every Father’s Day weekend. Tom loved to collect things because “someone might need this”, he was always thinking of family and friends. He made friends wherever he went. Out of all his hobbies, Tom loved spending time with his daughter, Jen, the most. From working on the racecar, hanging out at the house, or going on little trips, Tom truly cherished the time he spent with his daughter. Tom will always be remembered for one of his famous sayings, “What’s for suppah?”

Tom is survived by his daughter Jennifer Lord and her mother, Marie Wetherbee; two brothers, Timothy “Timmy” Lord and his partner Megan Costello, Ronald Lord Jr. and his wife Melissa; two sisters, Julie Wilcox and her husband Edward Sr. JoAnn Howell and her partner Michael Takesian; nieces and nephews, Edward Wilcox Jr. and his girlfriend Sarrah, Emily Wilcox, Jared Wilcox, Hannah Lord and her boyfriend William Plowman, Cody LeCuyer, Anthony Howell, Amelia Howell, Ross Takesian, Meegan Lord and her fiancé Cliff Riendeau and McKayla Lord and her partner Emily; a great niece, Alisson Wilcox; three foster grandchildren, Talia, Izzy and Emery; his girlfriend, Danielle Blier; his godparents, Judith Gilinson and her late husband Paul; two godchildren, Brian Ethier and Alicia Wetherbee; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

Relatives and friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough on Monday, April 28, from 3 to 8 p.m.  His Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. in the Funeral Home.  Graveside Services will follow in Tyngsborough Memorial Cemetery.
