Stephen P. Laforge

Stephen P. Laforge, age 68, of Merrimack, New Hampshire passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, June 12, 2026.

He was born in Lowell on January 31, 1958, a son of Helen (Timmins) Laforge of Tyngsborough and the late Paul W. Laforge.

He was a graduate of Tyngsboro High School, Class of 1976. President of his Class, National Honors Society Officer, and an outstanding three sport athlete. He was honored and humbled when inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame as an individual and as a member of the undefeated 74-75 basketball team. He then went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in engineering from UMass Lowell.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a mechanical engineer with 603 Manufacturing.

Stephen found his greatest joy in life’s simple moments—family camping trips to Sebago Lake, caring for his mother’s home, spending time with his brothers and sisters, and making cherished memories with his beloved grandchildren. He was hardworking, kind, and compassionate, always ready to lend a helping hand. With a generous heart and deep love for his family and close friends, Stephen will be remembered for the warmth, selflessness, and quiet kindness he brought to those around him.

In addition to his loving mother, he is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law, Erik and Courtney Laforge, Justin and Johanna Laforge, and Cody and Evelyn Laforge; his three beloved grandchildren, Jaden, Evie, and Cora; his longtime dear friend, Jacqui Sheridan; his three brothers, Daniel Laforge, Brian Laforge and his wife, Jodie, and Paul Laforge and his wife, Lori; his four sisters, Cheryl Laforge and her wife, Lea Hall, Audrey Laforge and her husband, Francis Leazes, Martha Howes and her husband, Michael, and Elizabeth Hayden; his sister-in-law, Karen Laforge; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, Paul W. Laforge; his brother, Edward Laforge; and his brother-in-law, Steven Hayden.

Relatives and friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Drive, Tyngsborough, on Wednesday, June 17, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. His Funeral Service and burial will be held privately.
