Stanley “Roscoe” Leonard, age 73, a resident of North Chelmsford, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025. He was the husband of Mary J. (Livingston) Leonard, with whom he shared 25 years of marriage.
Born in Lowell on May 4, 1952, he was a son of the late Harry M. and Elizabeth J. (Roscoe) Leonard. He was educated in the Lowell School system and was a graduate of Lowell High School class of 1970. He later furthered his education at East Coast Aero Technical School.
Roscoe was a proud to be a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served from 1976 until his honorable discharge in 1979.
He was an active member and a past Commander of the American Legion Post 313 in North Chelmsford, as well as a member of the Fletcher Club and Chelmsford Elks. He was also a longtime volunteer at the Chelmsford Senior Center.
He was a former Coating technician at Barr Associates/Materion from 1996-2013. Prior to this he worked as Flightline Maintenance at Lockheed Arabia and a Mechanic at Northwest Airlink.
Roscoe’s biggest enjoyment was going to the American Legion. He could enjoy his beer, listen to music, and share his funny sense of humor with his fellow members. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing his guitar and riding his motorcycle.
Surviving him in addition to his wife Mary are a daughter Amy Farmer and her fiancé Keith Sanborn; two grandchildren, Kimberly Farmer and Andrew Hennessey; a sister Bonnie Jean; a sister –in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce and Joe Ferreira; and nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Harry Mark Leonard.
Relatives and friends will be received on Sunday, June 1, 2025 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m at the Tyngsborough Funeral Home, 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough. A prayer service will conclude the service at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation in his memory to the American Legion Post 313, 90 Groton, Rd., N. Chelmsford, MA 01863.
