It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother and Mémère. Shirley W. (Falardeau) Martineau, age 86, a resident of Nashua, NH, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025 at her home with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Andre J. Martineau, with whom she shared 67 wonderful years of marriage.
Born in Lowell on January 15, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Riley) Falardeau.
She was a devoted homemaker who loved raising her family and didn’t begin working until later in life as an assembler/group leader for Teradyne, where she retired from after 24 years. Her close friends today are the woman she worked with there.
Shirley enjoyed gardening and planting beautiful flowers in the spring, as well as cross stitch, embroidery and shopping. She loved to make homemade meat pies and chicken soup. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and especially spending time at the family cabin in Greenfield, NH, at which many family gatherings were held throughout the summers.
She is survived by 7 children, Suzanne M. Scott of Calhan, CO, Francine M. Sherburne (James Capadanno) of Nashua, NH, Mark J. (Maryellen) Martineau of Dracut, MA, Kevin J. (Joan) Martineau of Lowell, MA, Yvonne M. (Randy) Dean of Tyngsborough, MA, Andy J. Martineau of Nashua, NH and Caren M. (George) Chasse of Dracut, MA; also survived by 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; a brother Joseph (Maureen) Falardeau; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her children Norman Martineau and Denise Martineau. She was also the sister of the late Rita Britt and Marie Murray.
Everything that we are, or ever hoped to be, we owe to our angel Mother and Mémère, may her spirit continue to shine brightly within each of us. She will be missed dearly.
At the request of the family, services will be private for family and close friends that knew and loved her.
