Ruth M. (Simoneau) Bisson, age 86, a longtime resident of Pelham, NH, passed away peacefully at her home, on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, surrounded by her loving family and best friend. She was the beloved wife of Paul A. Bisson, with whom she shared over 63 years of marriage.
Born in Lowell on October 12, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Josephat S. and Madeline D. (Grondin) Simoneau. Ruth grew up on White Street as the second oldest of eleven children. She grew up across the street from the love of her life, Paul.
She was a woman of strong faith and was an active parishioner of the former Ste Jeanne d’Arc Church and St. Patrick Church in Pelham, where she was also a member of their women’s guild. She was a longtime volunteer and supporter of the Hudson Food Bank and Catie’s Closet.
Prior to her retirement, Ruth was employed as an administrative secretary for over 25 years at Raytheon. She enjoyed traveling the country with Paul and helping others, but her greatest love was her family.
Surviving her in addition to her loving husband are four children, Victor N. Bisson and his wife Ellen, Joanne R. Perry and her husband David, Janet A. Bisson and Steven E. Bisson and his wife Laura; ten grandchildren; Daniel, Michael and his wife Jen, Andrew, Matthew, Kaleigh, Samantha and her husband Austin, Alyson, Marc and Emily and one great grandson, Wyatt.
She is also survived by her best friend, Colette Bilodeau with whom she was friends with since High School. Ruth’s children consider Colette a member of their tight knit family.
Ruth is survived by her siblings Dorothy Chouinard, Paul Simoneau, Francis Simoneau, Alice Johnson, Cecile McDonough, Leon Simoneau, Colette Hazard and Rachel Goyette and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers Norbert and Roger Simoneau, and her beloved granddaughter Catie Bisson.
Relatives and friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough on Tuesday, Nov. 12, from 4 to 7 p.m. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday morning Nov. 13, at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, 12 Main St., Pelham, NH. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in her memory to Catie’s Closet at http://www.catiescloset.org/donate/
