Roger G. Lemire, age 97, a resident of Salem, NH and a former longtime resident of Tyngsborough and Spring Hill, FL, passed away at his home on February 8, 2024. He was the beloved husband of the late Theresa D. (Grenier) Lemire.
Born in Lowell on May, 1, 1926, he was the son of the late Rudolph and Amelia (Hamel) Lemire. Roger was educated in the Lowell school system and was a graduate of Lowell High School. He then enlisted into the United States Army Air Force and served during World War II.
Roger was self-employed as a general contractor for many years and had built several homes in Tyngsborough. He was also employed as a police officer by the Town of Tyngsborough, having patrolled the Dracut side of Tyngsborough in car 35 for many years.
He enjoyed woodworking, traveling with his wife and spending time at their home in Florida.
Roger is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, Gerry R. Lemire and his wife Alison Jones of AZ, Gary P. Lemire of Salem NH, Glenn M. Lemire and his wife Betsy of AZ and Curtis P. Lemire of Salem, NH; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Emile Lessard; many nieces and nephews and many dear friends, including the Chronopoulos family.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Monday, Feb. 12 at 1 p.m. in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
