Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather

Robert L. Ducharme, age 92, of Westford, MA, formally of Dracut and Lowell MA passed away on Friday June 11, 2021 peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family.  He was the beloved husband of the late Pauline T. Ducharme (Lagasse) and they were married on September 30, 1950. Their loving union flourished throughout 67 years of marriage and their devotion to each other was unwavering through sickness and in health. They lived for each other’s happiness and enjoyed a wonderful life together. 

Robert was born on January 24, 1929 to the late Laureat and Alida (Ducharme) Ducharme. He attended St. Louis School and Lowell Trade School . He was employed and retired from Arlin Manufacturing Company and was previously employed by Synthetic Yarns of Lowell. Robert was a member of St. Catherine’s of Alexandria Parish of Westford. 

Robert enjoyed many years of camping with his wife and children. After retirement, he enjoyed playing golf, cribbage, traveling and spending winter months in Florida. Most of all, he cherished being with his family and enjoying activities with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Surviving him is his devoted son Steven and his wife Audrey of Westford who he resided with for many years; a cherished daughter Karen McKay and her husband Scotty of Fort Myers, FL; six grandchildren, Kimberly Judd and her husband Steve of Vancouver, British Columbia; Pamela Chong and her husband Gary of Wyndham, NH; Heather Bellemore and her husband Tim of Westford, MA; Heidi Sullivan and her husband Jason of Westford, MA; Carrie Tremblay of Bowie, MD and Stephanie Tremblay of Hampton, VA; six great-grandchildren, Stevie Jr., Samantha, Ryan, Anna, Chloe and Patrick; a special sister Gertrude Ducharme of Lowell, MA and a loving brother Norman and wife Teresa Ducharme of Cocoa Beach, FL. In addition, he leaves seven dear sister-in-laws, Jeanette Guillemette, Lucille Delfino, Ruth Rachel Arsenault, Dorothy Sjoman and husband Paul, Rose Gatteny and husband Louie, Susanne Lagasse, Dorothy (Cookie) Lagasse and three brother-in-laws Armand Lagasse, Archille Lagasse and wife Meg, Daniel Leahey as well as many dear nieces, nephews and very special friends. 

He was predeceased by his loving daughter Michelle Ste. Marie and husband William formerly of Dracut, MA; a brother Paul and wife Theresa Ducharme, six sister-in-laws, Doris Proulx, Bernadette Leahey, Suzanne Lagasse, Joanne Lagasse, Irene Ricard and husband Lionel (Rick) Lagasse, Anita Lagasse and eight brother-in-laws; Leon Lagasse, Robert Lagasse, Raymond Lagasse, Robert Guilmette, Richard Arsenault, Philip Delfino, Raymond Proulx and Andy Lagasse and wife Teresa. 

Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough.  Robert’s Funeral Service will then take place in the Funeral Home at 11 a.m.  Committal Prayers will follow at the Pavilion in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
