Robert J. Betty

Robert J. Betty, age 71, a resident of Tyngsborough, passed away peacefully at his home on October 24, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.  He was the beloved husband of Donnamarie A. (Chouinard) Betty with whom he shared over 51 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Lowell on September 11, 1952 he was a son of the late Victor and Anita (Deschenes) Betty.  He grew up in Lowell and was educated in the Lowell school system.

Robert was employed for many years as a groundskeeper at the Tewksbury State Hospital.

He was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life like maintaining his lawn and gardens, but his true love was spending time with his family, especially his four grandchildren.

Surviving Robert, in addition to his wife Donnamarie, are two sons and two daughters-in-law, David and Kerry Betty and Brian and Stacey Betty; his four loving grandchildren, Skylar, Mackenzie, Brylee and Austin; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Pauline Noble, Deborah and Thomas Joyce and Donna and John Buckley; and sister-in-law Rose Donnelly, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A casual Celebration of his life will be held on Friday, Nov. 3, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the family home for his family and close friends.  Burial will be held privately in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chelmsford.
