Richard A. Russell, Jr.

Richard A. “Rick” Russell, Jr., age 68, a longtime resident of Tyngsborough and formerly of Chelmsford, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the Jack Byrne Center at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.  He was the beloved husband of Cynthia A. (Proulx) Russell, with whom he shared 29 wonderful years of marriage.

Rick was born in Schenectady, NY on October 7, 1955, a son of Richard A. Russell, Sr., of Winchendon, MA and the late Betty Jane (Collins) Russell.  He was a graduate of Chelmsford High School, Class of 1973.

Prior to his retirement, he worked as an Engineering manager and Quality control manager.

Rick enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding ATV’s and travelling to Vermont for cannon shoots.  He was your average everyday outdoorsman that always wanted to bestow his knowledge and expertise to the younger generation.  

Surviving him in addition to his loving wife Cynthia and father Richard are a step-daughter, Kerri Proulx; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Andrea and James Torrisi of Winchendon and Katrina and John Lossman of Billerica; two nephews, Michael and Timothy Torrisi; and many close friends. He was predeceased by his mother Betty Jane and younger brother Scott Russell.

Relatives and friends will be received on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 12 noon to 3 p.m. at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough.  Burial will be held privately in Riverside Cemetery, Winchendon.
