Richard W. Lagasse

Richard W. Lagasse, age 79, a resident of Lowell, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022, after a period of declining health.  He was the husband of the late Marie (Chartier) Lagasse who passed in 2013.

Born in Lowell on February 11, 1943, he was the son of the late Henry and Jeanne (Asselin) Lagasse. 

Richard enjoyed traveling and going on vacations, watching movies, listening to music, going fishing and he always looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren. 

Prior to his retirement, he worked in receiving for the former Alexander’s Supermarket and later Hannaford. 

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Marc H. and MaryBeth (Thereault) of Dracut; three grandchildren, Alicia Lagasse, Jonathan Lagasse and Erica Lagasse; two great grandchildren, Katheryn Leverone and Christopher Lagasse; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends will be received on Thursday, Dec. 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Drive, Tyngsborough. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning at 11:30 a.m. at the Parish of Saint Rita, 158 Mammoth Rd., Lowell.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. at www.alz.org.
