Richard W. LaRiviere

Richard W. LaRiviere, age 85, a longtime resident of Tyngsborough, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022.  He was the husband of the late Jeanne E. (Couillard) with whom he had been married to for over forty three years.

Born in Lowell on December 27, 1936, he was a son of the late Henry and Agnes LaRiviere.

Richard was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and camping at Lake Winnipesaukee.  He was a life member of the Tyngsboro Sportsmen’s Club and was a member of the Teamsters.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a custodian by the Tyngsborough School system, a volunteer Firefighter for the Tyngsborough Fire Department and later a mechanic for the E. A. Wilson Co.

He is survived by a daughter, Sandra J. LaRiviere and her companion Victor Melendez of Lowell; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Patricia LaRiviere of Tyngsborough; a brother-in-law, Timothy McDonald of Dover, NH; a longtime companion Carol Deschenes; and many nieces and nephews.  He was also the brother of the late Geraldine McDonald and grandfather of the late Shane Lake.

Relatives and friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough, on Tuesday, Aug. 9, from 4 to 6 p.m. A Funeral Home service will take place immediately following at 6 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation in his memory to the Tyngsboro Sportsmen’s Club, 90 Westford Rd., Tyngsborough, MA 01879.
