Richard J. Berube

Richard J. Berube, age 81, a resident of Lowell, passed away on December 2, 2023. 

Born in Lowell on June 30, 1942, he was a son of the late Arthur and Eva (Sassaville) Berube.  He grew up in Lowell and was educated in the Lowell school system.

Richard was a U.S. Army veteran having served from 1964 until his honorable discharge in 1966. 

Prior to his retirement, he worked at Brooks Academy in North Andover and at Price’s Bakery in Lowell.

Richard was an avid New England sports enthusiast; he enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family.

He is survived by a brother, Eugene J. Berube of Lowell; a sister Jeannette Shaw of Omaha, NE; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. 

He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Arthur Berube, Doris Butler, Lorraine Hallner, Beatrice Russell, Paul Berube, Rita Hoffman, Pauline Mellon and Irene Courchaine.

Richard’s Committal Service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, Dec. 8, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chelmsford, to which everyone is invited.  For online condolences, please visit www.tyngsboroughfuneralhome.com.
