CHELMSFORD - Rene R. Desrochers, age 81, a resident of Chelmsford, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, (on his birthday) at his home, with his family by his side. He was born in Lowell on September 7, 1941, and was a son of the late Armand and Marie (Trudel) Desrochers.
He was the beloved husband of Therese (Chausse) Desrochers, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage. His life revolved around his marriage and they especially enjoyed going to Salem Willows and the Pawtucket Boulevard.
Most importantly, Rene (Pepere) always loved being around family. He had a great sense of humor and brought laughter to the room, no matter where he was, however he wanted to make sure everyone knew "Pepere was just teasing".
He is survived by a brother, Ronald Desrochers of Nashua; the brother of the late Gertrude Ayotte and Gabrielle Ledoux; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he leaves behind three sons and two daughters; Gerry (and Sharon Desrochers) of Melrose, Rachel (and Jeff Adams) of AZ, Eileen (and Dave Sprague) of PA, Denis (and Rachel) Desrochers of Chelmsford, and Andy (and Kelly) Desrochers of Northport, ME. His children also provided him with a buttload of grandchildren and great grandchildren. (14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren) which he enjoyed spending time with.
Relatives and friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough, on Tuesday, Sept. 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. His Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. at the Lowell First Church of the Nazarene, 1195 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA. Those wishing may make a donation in his memory to the Melrose Church of the Nazarene to support the Nazarene teen summer camp program.
