Raymond W. Paquette
HUDSON, NH – Raymond W. Paquette, age 85, a longtime resident of Hudson, NH, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at the Fairview Nursing Home in Hudson. He was the beloved husband of Noella L. (Arguin) Paquette, to whom he had been married for 64 years.
Born in Lowell on March 3, 1935, he was a son of the late Henry and Mabel (Cormier) Paquette.
Raymond was employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Highway Department for many years having retired from the position of Bridge Foreman. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, family always came first. Raymond was always ready to lend a hand, listen and offer advice. There was nothing better than a nice hot cup of coffee, especially when accompanied by good conversation or someone to tease.
Raymond was an avid Patriots fan and was a former coach of the Lowell Junior Football League in the late 70’s and early 80’s, where he was affectionately referred to by his players as “Doc”. He also enjoyed woodworking, word searches, making puzzles and bird watching.
Surviving him in addition to his wife Noella are a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Christine Paquette of Dracut; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda Bellis and her husband Steven of Concord, NC and Maureen Anson and her husband James of Litchfield, NH, and former daughter-in-law Catherine Paquette; seven grandchildren, Lauren Bell and her husband Daniel, Meagan Kadel and her husband Joshua, Rebecca Bellis and her fiancé Adam Mattison, Christopher Bellis and his wife Christy, Matthew Paquette and his fiancée Ashlyn Daniel-Nuboer, Amy Paquette and Zachary Anson; four great grandchildren, Sean and Heath Kadel, and Jasmine and Jordan Bell; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Theresa Paquette of Dracut and Georgette Briere and her husband Donald of Lowell.
He was also the brother of the late Roger Paquette and Brother Richard Paquette, C.M.F.
Due to the current pandemic, there will be no visitations. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Thursday morning at 10 a.m. at St. Kathryn Parish, 4 Dracut Rd., Hudson, NH. Those attending the Mass will be required to wear a face mask and practice social distancing. Burial will be private in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
