Raymond E. Drouin
Raymond E. Drouin, age 93, a former longtime resident of the Pawtucketville section of Lowell, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at the Sunrise Assisted Living facility in Norwood. He was the loving husband of the late Marie Anne P. (Lemay) Drouin.
Born in Lowell, on January 10, 1928, he was a son of the late Phillippe L. and Noria G. (Robillard) Drouin. Ray was educated in the Lowell School System and was a graduate of Lowell High School. He then enlisted into the U. S. Army and served from 1946 until his honorable discharge in 1947.
After returning home from the service, Ray began working for Colonial Gas Company and later National Grid, retiring from a supervisory position.
He enjoyed traveling and going on cruises with his wife, painting, listening to classical music and spending time with his family.
He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Gloria A. Leon of Dedham and Rayanne Coombs and her husband Jason of Kennebunkport, ME; three grandchildren, Victor Leon III and his wife Leslie of Dover, MA, Danielle Kreger and her husband Justin of Dedham and Alden Coombs of Kennebunkport; five great grandchildren, Victor IV, George, Eveline, Harrison and Oscar; also many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
He was the brother of the late Jeannette Breault, Irene Drouin, Gertrude Hudon, Germaine McKinnon, Cecile Bourcier, George Drouin and Therese Beausoleil. He was also the father-in-law of the late Victor Leon II who passed in April of 2020.
Relatives and friends may call at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough on Wednesday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately following at 12 noon in Ste Marguerite D’Youville Parish, 1340 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut. Burial will be private in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. Those wishing may make a memorial donation in his name to a charity of your choice.
