Raymond Couture, age 83, a longtime resident of Tyngsborough, passed away at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Sandra (Roy) Couture, to whom he was married to for 38 years.
He was born in Lowell on July 24, 1941, and was a son of the late Edward Sr. and Rose (Letendre) Couture. He was educated at Ste. Jeanne d’Arc Lowell School and Dracut High School. Ray enlisted into the Navy on November 29, 1959, and served as a machinist mate on the USS Waller, USS Strong and the USS Robison. He received an honorable discharge in 1964 and was always proud to be a Navy Veteran.
After leaving the Navy, Ray worked as a machinist in Burlington, and then worked as a truck driver for Corenco, Transgas Inc. and Prince Spaghetti and retired from Interstate Containers in 2005.
Ray enjoyed his winters in Holiday, Florida, summers at their lake house and many trips through the states.
In addition to his loving wife, he survived by his daughter Denise Couture of Manchester, NH, four step sons, Richard Fisette and his partner Ann Deluca of Dunstable, MA, David Fisette and his wife Donna of Litchfield, NH, James Fisette and his wife Martha of Pelham, NH and Bobbie Fisette of Florida; many wonderful nieces and nephews, and great friends and neighbors, including Dennis and Maria Barker, whom he enjoyed boating on the lake with them in the summer. He was predeceased by his best friend Red Lemieux who passed away February 17, 2025.

Visitations will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough. His Funeral Service will take place immediately following in the Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Committal Services and Military Honors will follow at Tyngsborough Memorial Cemetery.
