Raymond G. Comtois, age 79, a longtime resident of Tyngsborough, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023, with his family by his side. He was together with Brenda LaFerriere for over 39 years.
Born in Lowell on March 9, 1944, he was a son of the late Ronaldo and Simone (Gaudette) Comtois. He was educated in the Lowell School system and was a graduate of Lowell Trade School, where he studied upholstery.
Ray then enlisted into the United States Navy and served from 1962 until his honorable discharge in 1965.
He enjoyed deep sea fishing, gardening, music, drawing and working on projects around the house. Ray was a proud American, who loved his family and always looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also had a love for animals and would often be found feeding them and even making shelters for them.
Ray was a craftsman in many trades and he also owned and operated an upholstery business for many years.
Surviving him in addition to his wife Brenda are three daughters and a son-in-law, Carolyn Khampadith, Michelle Hill and her husband Steven and Renee Comtois; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Raymond Comtois Jr. and his wife Tonya and Bryan Comtois and his wife Ashley; eighteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren; a brother, Bernard Comtois; a sister and brother-in-law, Claudette and Wilfred Moge; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Lisa Ann Parece, two brothers, Maurice Comtois and Norbert Comtois and a sister, Rita Guilmette.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no visitations. A graveside service with military honors will take place on April 26, 2024 in Tyngsborough Memorial Cemetery.
