Paul Michaud Obituary

Paul Thure Michaud

formerly of Tyngsborough, Mass.

It is with broken hearts that the family of Paul Michaud announces his sudden passing on April 23, 2023, at Tufts Medical Center-Boston from complications of cardiac arrest. Until the end, Paul was surrounded by his family and was not alone.

Paul was born on January 18, 1967, in Lowell, Mass. He was raised in Tyngsborough attending Tyngsborough public schools graduating from Tyngsborough High School in 1985, and also attending Wentworth Institute in Boston Mass. Paul was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Chelmsford, Mass.

Professionally, Paul was a carpenter throughout his life. His skilled hands and physical attributes made him a perfect asset for the trade. He conducted his own business, worked for several construction firms, and then for many years worked for Enwright Construction. He created a lifetime of work to be forever admired. The ability to turn something simple into grand. Each piece of work embodied his spirit.

Paul loved sports and was a disciplined and exceptional athlete. Paul played center position with the Tyngsborough Amateur Hockey League. He was an excellent skater, stick handler and quick with the puck. He was a left-handed pitcher for Tyngsborough Junior baseball making the all-star teams for both baseball and hockey. He loved golf and scored a near-impossible hole-in-one at Martha's Vineyard's Farm Neck golf club. For many years, he enthusiastically played for Captain John’s and the Highland Tap’s men’s modified fast-pitched softball leagues. Additionally, he played on several Lowell co-ed softball teams.

People enjoyed Paul’s presence. He was a master of fun and wit. He had great one-liners and many stories to tell, always with a funny flair. His dimpled smile and laugh were contagious to those around him. A great conversationalist, always on-hand to listen. Paul was so loved.

Paul’s greatest joy was being a father to his daughter Leia. His pride for her was heartfelt and a smile came over his face whenever he talked about her and her amazing accomplishments. Paul was the beloved son of Brenda Bloomgren of New Ipswich, NH. He leaves behind his beautiful daughter Leia Michaud, his devoted girlfriend, Jackie Vargo of Dracut, Mass, former wife Kelley Michaud of North Chelmsford, Mass, cousins Katie and Thure Bloomgren of Dracut/Lowell Mass (who were like his brother and sister), cousin Glen Sweetser of Pelham, NH, uncle Marty and aunt Linda Bloomgren of Tyngsborough, Mass, aunt and godmother Elaine Sweetser of Pelham, NH, and many friends from childhood, school, and work. Paul is predeceased by his grandparents, Thure and Jeannette Bloomgren, cousin Gary Sweetser, uncle Sonny Sweetser, and adored dog Tasha.
