Patricia McCann
Patricia (Enger) McCann, age 77 and a resident of Tyngsborough MA, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 after a brief illness. She died peacefully with her family by her side.
Born in Lowell on January 20, 1945, Patty was the daughter of the late Albert and Yvette (Boudreau) Enger. She graduated from Lowell High School.
Patty loved living on the Merrimack River and enjoyed the nature and serenity of her home there. She was an animal lover and created a bird sanctuary on her property. Her yard was also home to her cherished cat, Purrl.
Patty was an avid supporter of many local activities, including the Merrimack River Rowing Association. She was an environmentalist and remained very active in local and national politics throughout her lifetime. She was a well informed and strident advocate of political issues, especially those impacting the less privileged and people in need. She developed lasting relationships everywhere she went.
Patty built her own hairdressing business at the Willow Manor retirement home where her hairdressing skills were second only to the companionship and friendship she provided to the residents. After retiring from Willow Manor in the 90’s, Patty changed careers and became a highly skilled Solder Rework Specialist, heading teams at Raytheon, Schneider Electric and Amphenol Printed Circuits for over 20 years.
Patty is survived by a daughter Kathryn M. Conway and her husband Timothy J. Conway of Boston, her son Martin T. McCann, Jr. and his wife Claudia McCann of Sandown, New Hampshire and her former husband, Martin T. McCann of Bell, Florida. Patty had four grandchildren; Jack Conway, Jessica Conway, Caroline Conway and Eric T. McCann; three step grandchildren; Amanda, Rachael and Shannon. She is also survived by two sisters and two brothers-in-law; Esther and Kendall Wallace of Hernando, Florida and Janet and Dennis Newell of Pelham, NH.
Relatives and friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough on Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her memory to the Lowell House Inc. 101 Jackson Street 4th Floor, Lowell, MA 01852.
