Maurice “Moe” Daigle
DRACUT - Maurice W. “Moe” Daigle, age 93, a resident of Dracut, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill. He was the husband of the late Beatrice (Masse) Daigle to whom he was married to for 72 years.
Born in Lowell on December 27, 1928, he was the son of the late Albert L. and Alice F. (Marcil) Daigle and was a graduate of Keith Academy.
A veteran of the Korean War, Moe proudly served his country as a member of the US Air Force.
Prior to his retirement, Moe owned and operated Al's Ice Cream, serving the Greater Lowell area for many years.
He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, gardening, woodworking and traveling with Bea. Moe also enjoyed staying active and was always tinkering with something around the house.
He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and the Club Lafayette.
He is survived by a son and daughter in law, Dennis Daigle and his wife Donna (Golden); a granddaughter Melinda Sheehan; two great grandchildren Natalie and Alex Daigle; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Irene Basnett and Estelle and Paul Bergeron; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Lorraine Daigle; a sister-in-law, Therese Daigle; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a grandson, Brian Daigle, three sisters, Yvette Daigle, Lorraine McInnis, Beatrice Tarello, two brothers Paul Daigle and Albert A. Daigle, Sr., brothers-in-law James McInnis, James Basnett, John Tarello, and sister-in-law Florence Daigle.
Relatives and friends will be received on Monday, Aug. 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough. His Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Parish, Wheeler Rd., Dracut. Committal Service with Military Honors will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chelmsford.
