Mary E. Basiliere, age 64, a resident of Mullins, South Carolina, passed away on September 10, 2025, as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Maryland.
She was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on September 18, 1960, and was a daughter of the late Richard and Elizabeth (Fritschy) Basiliere. She was raised and educated in Lawrence and was a graduate of Lawrence High School.
Mary had an extensive career with the American Red Cross, serving communities for over 25 years. In her years of service, she had the opportunity to serve as the Senior Station Manager at Yokota Air Base, Japan, where she led a team to support one of the largest evacuations of American military families in recent memory. During her time with the Red Cross, Mary spent time in Djibouti, Africa and Iraq helping soldiers and their families at home.
Mary was a leukemia survivor and was always ready to assist others and she loved her dog Henry. She was also a longtime active member of the Chelmsford and Mullins Lions Club.
She is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Michelle and Brian Gundlach and Bobbi-Lyn and Brian Powers; a grandson, Johnathan Powers; her siblings, Richard and Valerie Basiliere, David Basiliere, Lauren and Myles Conley, Joseph Basiliere and Brian Basiliere; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial visitation on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Drive, Tyngsborough.
