Margaret Ann (Bowden) Hammersley, age 73, a resident of Nashua, NH, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Edward A. Hammersley, with whom she shared over 52 years of marriage.
Born in Lowell, MA on March 8, 1952, she was the youngest daughter of the late Charles and Jenny Bowden. Margaret graduated in 1971 from Saint Ann High School in Arlington Massachusetts. She worked at Wang Laboratories and Continental Resources, as well as being a devoted wife and mother who loved raising her family.
Margaret was everyone’s favorite Aunt, and her world revolved around her children and her 6 treasured grandchildren. She was everyone’s best friend, and thanks to her example, the number of close friends surrounding her grew exponentially to become a vast network of extended “framily”.
“Margie”, as she was known to friends, loved creating memories with those she cherished. She enjoyed going to the theater, fancy tea rooms, craft fairs, and chatting with her girlfriends over a nice lunch before shopping at the Paper Store. She, along with her beloved best friend and husband, Ed, were frequent travelers, and would often share photos from their vacations and from adventures with their family. Regardless of where she was, though, Margaret’s favorite way to spend her time was with her treasured grandchildren.
Surviving Margaret, in addition to her husband Edward, are their 3 children: Carollee Miller, Edward J. Hammersley, and Melissa Desmarais. She is survived as well by her 6 adored grandchildren: Daniel Beauchesne, Benjamin Beauchesne, Andrew Beauchesne, Joey Desmarais, Jackson Beauchesne and Jenny Desmarais. Margaret was the sister of the late Alice Jones and Aunt to the late Clark Hammersley and is also survived by her nephews and nieces William, Michael and Gordon Jones, Brae Hammesley, John Hammersley and Denise Fox.
Relatives and Friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough on Thursday, March 27, from 3 to 6 p.m.
