Luis A. Valencia Torres
Luis A. Valencia Torres, age 106, a former longtime resident of Lowell, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the Mary Immaculate Nursing facility in Lawrence. He was the husband of the late Margarita (Pareja) Valencia who died in 2014.
Born in Medellin, Colombia on March 5, 1918, he was a son of the late Manuel and Delfina (Torres) Valencia.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as an elevator mechanic.
Luis was a longtime active parishioner of St. Patrick Church in Lowell.
He is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Ninfa Cardona and her husband Joaquin and Marta Alvarado and her husband Luis; four grandchildren, Daniel, Luis, Ashley and Elizabeth; three great grandchildren; Sebastian, Joseph and Benjamin; a brother, Marino Valencia Torres; and several relatives in Colombia.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no visitations. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 15, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, 282 Suffolk St., Lowell. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
