Lucien E. Dalpe
Lucien E. Dalpe, age 82, a longtime resident of Dracut, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022, in Lowell. He was the loving husband of Lillian C. (Marcotte) Dalpe, for over 55 wonderful years.
Born in Lowell on July 23, 1939, he was a son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Pellerin) Dalpe. He was educated at Ste. Therese Elementary School and was a graduate of St. Joseph High School.
He was a member of the Army National Guard, having served from 1957 until his honorable discharge in 1965.
Lucien was a longtime active parishioner of Ste. Marguerite D’Youville Parish, where he served as a teacher and director of the CCD program for over 29 years, was a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Sacristan, a member and past president of the Men’s Club, a member of the Parish Club and past president of the 600 Club.
He was a member of the Franco American Day Committee for many years and was awarded Franco American of the Year in 2012. Lucien was also the recipient of the Bishop Cheverus Medal from the Archdiocese of Boston.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Raytheon as a Production Control Supervisor for 44 years and 224 days.
Lucien enjoyed gardening and certainly had a green thumb; he enjoyed decorating for the holiday’s, looking at family photos, visiting family in Canada, following the Red Sox and listening to French music. He always looked forward to spending time with family and friends, assisting anyone in need and supporting the Church in any way possible.
Surviving him in addition to his loving wife Lillian are a daughter, Nicole Dalpe-Roberge and her husband Kevin Roberge of Whittinsville, MA; a granddaughter, Bella Roberge of Whittinsville, MA; two sisters, Gloria Dalpe and Yvonne Meisner both of Jacksonville, FL; a brother and sister-in-law, Louis and Marie Dalpe of Dracut; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Leo and Diane Marcotte of Nashua, NH, Alfred Marcotte of Hudson, NH and Denise Marcotte of Tarpon Springs, FL; also many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was also the brother of the late Juliette Johnson; brother-in-law of the late Roland Marcotte, Roland Bisson, Royce Johnson and William “Bill” Meisner.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Thursday, March 17th, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough, MA 01879. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 18th, at 11 a.m. in Ste Marguerite D’Youville Parish, 1340 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
