Louise "Weezy" (Clarke) Lorman Obituary

Louise “Weezy” (Clarke) Lorman, 97, a lifelong resident of Tyngsboro, MA passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Thursday, October 20, 2022.

Weezy was the loving wife of the late Tyngsboro Fire Department Chief Robert “Bob” Lorman, who died in 1992.

Born in Nashua, NH on October 18, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Ethel Clarke. After graduating from Lowell High School, Weezy and Bob lived together on Pawtucket Boulevard for 37 years until his death. Weezy co-founded the Evangelical Congregational Church of Tyngsboro Thrift Shop with the late June Duff during this time.

In April of 1979, upon returning home from responding to an auto accident, then-Captain Bob mentioned to Weezy that the fire department was in need of a Jaws of Life (“JAWS”), as calling mutual aid from a neighboring department for the equipment added too much time getting the injured person to a hospital. Weezy, along with fellow fire and police department wives, organized the Jaws of Life for Tyngsboro (“JOLT”) program, aiming to raise $8,000 – no small feat considering the average car cost $4,500 in 1979. Within six months, they raised $14,000.

Weezy and Bob raised two beloved daughters, the late Patti-Ann Lorman MacQueen and Nancy Lausier. Patti-Ann was a respiratory therapist at the University of Connecticut Medical Center, and passed away in 1996. Following this loss, Weezy went on to live with her daughter Nancy, and son-in-law Donald Lausier on nearby Farwell Road, and helped raise their children, Steven and Samantha, to whom Weezy became as much a second mother as a grandmother.

Weezy will be remembered for her unfailing devotion to her town and her family, her love of watching the visitors at neighboring Parlee Farms through the window, her sharp and biting wit, nursery rhymes, and instant brownies.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all the staff members of Sunny Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, especially Simon and Bernadette, for their loving care of Weezy in recent years, during which she defeated cancer twice.

Weezy was the last of her siblings, the late Robert, Horace, and John Clarke, and the late Frances Gray, Christina Bell, and Janet Lorman. Weezy was also predeceased by her son Kurt, who passed away soon after birth in 1956.

She is survived by her daughter Nancy and her husband, Donald Lausier, of Tyngsboro; grandson Steven Fox Lausier and his wife Lizzy Fox Lausier of Charlotte, VT; granddaughter Samantha Dayvie and her husband Mark Dayvie of South Burlington, VT; grand-nephew Michael DuVarney and grand-niece Danielle Kilgour; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends will be received on Tuesday, Oct. 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough.  Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. in the Funeral Home.  Burial in Sherburne Cemetery, Tyngsborough. In lieu of flowers, please kindly submit donations to the Tyngsboro Fire Department, 26 Kendall Rd., Tyngsborough.
