Louis G. LeClerc, age 86, a resident of Tyngsborough, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023 with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Eileen C. (Smith) LeClerc, with whom he shared over 53 years of marriage.
Born in Grand Falls, NB Canada on January 12, 1937, he was a son of the late Alfred and Rose Alma (Gagnon) LeClerc. His mother was born in Old Town, Maine and his father (WWI veteran) was born in New Brunswick. Louis was raised on a potato farm which was common place in Grand Falls.
He was a graduate of Grand Falls High School and New Brunswick Technical Institute.
Louis enlisted into the United States Army in 1958, attended the US Army Signal Corps School and received his certification as a Radar Repairman, a specialty he used until his honorable discharge in 1964.
Prior to his retirement, Louis was employed as a technician by Honeywell. He then worked for the USPS for 15 years.
He enjoyed sports, especially hockey and baseball; taking trips to the beach and spending time in his yard manicuring his gardens. His true passion was his family, he loved spending time with them and supporting them in all their endeavors.
Surviving him in addition to his loving wife Eileen, are a son and daughter-in-law, David and Carla LeClerc; a daughter, Caitlin Hidasi and her fiancé Aleksander Betko; four grandchildren, Isabel, Aedan, Caleb and Avery; two brothers and one sister, Elmer LeClerc, Robert and Joyce LeClerc(sister-in-law); Judith and Pierre Deschenes(brother-in-law); several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. He was predeceased by three brothers Roland, Eugene and Chester LeClerc and five sisters, Jeannette Altmunshafer, Lori Gillespie, Mabel Godbout, Joan Mulherin and Alfreda Fraser.
Relatives and friends will be received on Saturday, Dec. 30, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough. His Funeral Service will take place immediately following at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery in Westford.
