Louis J. Cote, age 95, a longtime resident of the Pawtucketville section of Lowell, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Doris A. (Beauchesne) Cote, with whom he shared over 70 years of marriage.
Born in Lowell on July 22, 1929, he was the son of the late Thomas and Marie (April) Cote. Louis was a Korean War veteran having served in the U.S. Army from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1955.
After returning home from the war, he began working for the Lowell Vending Company and remained there until his retirement 56 years later. He also worked with his family at Cote Brothers Movers.
He was a longtime active parishioner of the former Ste Jeanne d’Arc Church and later the Parish of Saint Rita. He was also a life member of the Passe Temps Club.
Surviving him in addition to his wife Doris are three daughters, Denise I. Beaudry, Marie Jeanne T. Toy (Mudd) and Michelle R. Moran; six grandchildren Michael Beaudry, Cheryl Kim, Justin and his wife Erika Paquin, Sean and his wife Julia Conroy, Shelby and her husband Justin Murray and Samantha Moran; nine great grandchildren, Rachel, Ryan, Abigail, Jackson, Simon, Maddux, Shiloh, Leo and Quinn; one great-great grandson, Salem; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Leo P. Cote and daughter Louise Paquin and he was also the brother of the late Leo, Arthur and Albert Cote, Irene Lacerte and Yvette Goyette.
Relatives and friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Drive, Tyngsborough on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10 a.m. in the Parish of Saint Rita, 158 Mammoth Road, Lowell. Committal services with Military Honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
