Juliette M. (Michel) Desrochers, R.N., age 89, a lifelong resident of the Pawtucketville section of
Lowell, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021 in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She
was the beloved wife of Roger P. Desrochers. She was the heart of a large and growing family
who had hoped to celebrate their 66th wedding anniversary on May 30th.
Juliette was born in Lowell on March 16, 1932, the daughter of the late William and Eva
(Lussier) Michel. She was a graduate of Ste. Jeanne d’Arc School, St. Joseph’s High School and
St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing where she earned her registered nurse degree.
Prior to her retirement, Julie was employed as a pediatric nurse and clinical instructor for the
former St. Joseph’s Hospital. After years of raising her family, she returned to nursing as a
substitute school nurse in Dracut.
She was an active parishioner of the former Ste. Jeanne d’Arc Church, St. Joseph’s Shrine, and
later the Parish of Saint Rita.
Julie was devoted to her family, spending hours in her kitchen welcoming all to sit at her table to
chat and have a bite to eat. She enjoyed gardening, reading, singing, and playing her favorite
card games. She served on the Parish Council at Ste Jeanne d’Arc and was a member of her
church choir, La Chorale Orion, and the Spindle City Singers. Among her many volunteer
activities, Julie was especially happy to accompany local AIDS patients to medical appointments
available only in the Boston hospitals.
Surviving her in addition to her loving husband Roger, are Michelle and her husband Joseph
Clermont of Lowell, MA, Paul and his wife M. Denise Desrochers of Cohasset MA, Gerard
Desrochers and his wife Ileana Blanco of Houston, TX, Evelyn and her husband David Quigley
of Westport, CT, William and his wife Linda Desrochers of Derry, NH, Robert and his wife
Kristin Desrochers of Chelmsford, MA, and Colette Desrochers and her husband Peter
Langmuir, of Cherry Hill, NJ. She was Mémère to 26 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren,
and an aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. She was a dear friend to many including her
in-laws Gloria and the late Raynal Desrochers, Norman and Barbara Desrochers, Richard and
Earlene Desrochers, and the late Roland and Judith Desrochers.
She was predeceased by her brother Joseph R. “Mike” Michel, Sr., his wife Thérèse, and her
twin brother William Michel who died in early infancy.
The family wishes to acknowledge the loving service provided by the numerous aides who
assisted her later in life, particularly the loving care provided by Kathleen Dion.
Relatives and friends will be received on Friday, June 4, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the
TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Drive, Tyngsborough. Her Funeral
Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the Parish of Saint Rita,
158 Mammoth Rd., Lowell. Committal Services and burial will follow in St. Joseph
Cemetery, Chelmsford. To ensure everyone’s safety, those attending the services will be
