Joseph Roger Cormier
Joseph Roger Cormier, age 87, a longtime resident of the Pawtucketville section of Lowell, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 20, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Rita Marie (Thibodeau) Cormier, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.
He was born in Bouctouche, New Brunswick, Canada on March 7, 1935, and was a son of the late Oliver and Yvonne (Allain) Cormier.
Roger enjoyed bowling and watching hockey and was an avid fan of the Montreal Canadiens.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed for several years as a roll catcher by the Sunoco Paper Company.
Surviving him in addition to his loving wife Rita, are a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Yvette Cormier of Dracut; a sister, Aldea Duplessis of Waltham; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roger and Audrey Thibodeau of Canada and a sister-in-law, Alma Gauvin of Canada; his dear friends, the Poulin family; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday, Dec. 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Drive, Tyngsborough. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 10 a.m. at the Parish of Saint Rita, 158 Mammoth Rd., Lowell. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
