Joseph F. Cardoza, age 82, a longtime resident of Lowell, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2020 in Boston. He was the husband of the late Nancy (Willey) Cardoza.
Born in Lowell of September 19, 1937, he was a son of the late Silvino and Georgiana (Martin) Cardoza and was educated in the Lowell School system.
He had an extensive career in plumbing and always kept a hand in the profession after retirement.
Joe was simply a great guy with a huge heart, who was always ready to help his family and friends and support anyone in need. Joe was also a wonderful family man who always found the time to spend with his grandchildren. He enjoyed making people laugh and was always the life of the party and he also enjoyed working in his yard.
He is survived by two daughters and two sons in law, Susan Purtell and her husband Stephen of Lowell and Doreen Yeomans and her husband David of Lowell; four grandchildren, Stephen Purtell, Sean Purtell and his wife Alisen, David Yeomans and Daniel Yeomans; two great granddaughters, Nora Purtell and Zoe Yeomans; two sisters, Theresa Sousa and Mary Dalton both of Tyngsborough; a dear friend and companion, Cynthia Pelletier; also many nieces and nephews.
He was also the father of the late Joey and David Cardoza and brother of the late John, Leonel and Paul Cardoza, Rosella Andrade, Eva Cardoza and Rita Coates.
His Funeral Mass and burial were held privately for his immediate family. Those wishing may make a memorial donation to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
