John J. Wrobel, Sr.
TEWKSBURY – John J. Wrobel, Sr., (Fuzzy), a longtime resident of Tewksbury, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the young age of 75. He was the loving husband and best friend of Patricia (Faber) Wrobel with whom he shared 52 wonderful years of marriage.
Born in Lowell on January 13, 1947, he was the son of the late Stanley J. and Maryann (Kolek) Wrobel, Sr. John grew up on Fort Hill Ave. in Lowell. He received his education at St. Stanislaus School and was a graduate of Keith Academy, class of 1964, where he was captain of the Basketball team. He played CYO Basketball and attended ITT Technical Institute.
John was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1968. Stationed in Germany, he served as the Executive Chef providing food for his 317th Engineer Battalion.
He returned home from the service and began working at the former Wang Laboratories. Later, he owned and operated Jardek’s Donut Shop in Billerica.
John was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Polish Church where he was involved in many church activities including, Bingo, the Men’s Club, Senior Citizen Club, and the Pierogi Brigade where he cooked Polish foods. He was also a part of the Polish American Veterans of Lowell.
Fuzzy enjoyed cooking, gardening, feeding the wild turkeys in his yard and always took the time to attend his children and grandchildren’s lifelong events. He loved traveling with his wife, Pat, and had visited all but seven states. He never asked for help but was always there to help.
Surviving him in addition to his loving wife Pat are his four children John J. Wrobel Jr., Betsy Wrobel, Stephanie Montisanti and her husband Jamie, and Julianne Fraize and her husband Josh. Known as Dziadek to his eight grandchildren are John III, Jake and Brooke Wrobel and their mother Dawn, Ashlyn and Violet Montisanti, Anya and Skylar Fraize, and Maci Wrobel and her mother Shelley. A brother, Dr. Stanley Wrobel Jr. and his late wife Maureen, a brother-in-law, Ted Faber Jr. and his late wife, Bernice; a very dear aunt, Bunny Piekos; three nieces, Amanda, Jessica and Tara and many cousins. He also leaves his furry family, Lucky, Carlos, Stasia and Derby.
Relatives and friends may call at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough, on Sunday, Jan. 30, from 1 to 4 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Polish Church, 340 High St. Lowell.
