Joanne (Guarino) Shifres, age 72, a well-known resident of Tyngsborough and the former Town Clerk, passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at her home. She was the wife of Marc R. Shifres, with whom she shared over 48 years of marriage.

A fixture at Town Hall, Joanne worked tirelessly for the residents, the local departments and government officials. She was also active in many town events and often volunteered along with her husband, assisting in any way they could.
In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, playing solitaire and traveling.
