Jeannette F. (Lagasse) Guillemette

Jeannette F. (Lagasse) Guillemette, age 91, passed away after a brief illness on Friday, April 14, 2023, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH.  She was the wife of the late Robert M. Guillemette, who died in 2004.

Born in Lowell on June 5, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Archille and Dorothy (Dufault) Lagasse. She was educated in the Catholic school system, attended Notre Dame Elementary School and was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School. 

Jeannette enjoyed camping with family and friends, playing cards, making puzzles, going to bingo and the casinos, crocheting and most of all family gatherings.  She loved the holiday’s, cooking for her family and pleasing everyone with their favorite foods. 

She was a devout catholic and was a parishioner of the Blessed Trinity Parish – St. Catherine of Alexandria Church in Westford.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed as an administrative assistant at Fort Devens in the Education Department for over 25 years.

She was the mother of the late Robert W. Guillemette who is survived by Lenore Guillemette of Keene, NH. She is survived by five other children, Dolores Holleran and her husband, Dana of Amherst, NH; Kenneth Guillemette and his wife, Cheryl of North Port, FL; Denise Van Veen and her husband Christopher of Summerville, SC; Gary Guillemette and his wife, Tracy of Westford, MA and Janet O’Hare of Pepperell, MA; and her longtime partner and dearest friend, Armand Perron and his family.

She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, Kelly Isaacs and her husband Stephen, Christina Holleran, Laura Hanaford and her husband Jason, Melissa Busch, Sarah Laurello and her husband Eric, James Van Veen and his wife Crystal, Kathryn Grey and her husband John, Jennifer and Jared O’Hare, Evan, Garrett, and Tyler Guillemette; grandmother of the late Julia Van Veen; ten great-grandchildren, Ezekiel, Elijah, Vivienne, Calvin, Emile, Ethan, Helen, Brookelyn, Chloe and Noah; three step-grandchildren, Sheila Webb and her husband Randy, Kelly Vivo Amore and her husband Frank and Dawn Roy and her husband Mark; seven step-great-grandchildren Anthony, Matthew, Molly, Timothy, Devon, Alex, Dylan; two step-great-great-grandchildren Jammie and Emma.

In addition, she is survived by three sisters Lucille Delfino of OH, Ruth (Rachel) Arsenault of NH and Rose Gatteney of FL; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Armand Lagasse of MA and Archille Lagasse and his wife Meg of MA; sister-in-law Theresa Richards of MA; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was also sister of the late Leon, Robert, Raymond and Andre Lagasse, Pauline Ducharme, Doris Proulx, Bernadette Leahey, Irene Ricard and Dorothy Sjoman.

Relatives and friends will be received on Monday, April 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough, MA. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 18 at 10 a.m. at the Blessed Trinity Parish – St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 107 N Main St., Westford, MA.  Burial will follow at St. Catherine Cemetery, Westford, MA.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation in her memory to the Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Rd., Merrimack, NH 03054 or DaVita Nashua Dialysis, 38 Tyler St., Ste. 100, Nashua, NH 03060.
