Jeanine F. (Ouellette) (Newton) Marcotte, age 79, a long-time resident of Tyngsborough, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at her home. She was the beloved wife of Michel R. Marcotte, with whom she would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on January 14th.
Born in Lowell on November 30, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred J. and Lauretta L. (Maher) Ouellette. She was educated in the Tyngsborough school system through the eighth grade and was a graduate of Chelmsford High School.
Jeanine spent the early years of her career working as a secretary but relished her years in retirement as a housewife and homemaker for her family and enjoyed watching her grandkids, nieces and nephews, and the children of family friends. Jeanine loved to cook for her family and friends, was an avid reader and above all else, she loved spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Michel, Jeanine is survived by her seven children, Christopher Newton and his wife Jennifer, Michelle Valentine and her husband Thomas, Jason Newton and his wife Carrianne, Jennifer Lumenello, Joseph Marcotte and his wife Dana, Eric Newton and his wife Jenna, and Jamie Newton; ten grandchildren, Cassandra Maroney, Michael Newton, Riley Newton, Emily Lumenello, Patrick Newton, Ava Newton, Justice Newton, William Marcotte, Melanie Marcotte, and Lennox Newton; a sister and brother-in-law, Jacqueline and Jack Honan; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Carol Newton; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also the wife of the late Richard P. Newton who passed in 1981.
Relatives and friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough on Thursday, Jan. 18, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Her Committal Service will take place immediately following at 12:45 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chelmsford.
