Jean Jacques Cote, 82, a former long-time resident of Hudson and more recently of Nashua, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, August 9, 2023, at home with his loving family by his side.
Born in Plessisville, Canada on June 24, 1941, he was the son of the late Arthur and Anne Marie (Vigneault) Cote. He moved to Barre, Vermont at a young age where he acquired the skills of a talented stonecutter while working in the monument industry.
In 1979, he and his wife established Hudson Monuments in Hudson, New Hampshire. He worked alongside his wife and two sons for over 30 years creating beautiful memorials. Jean enjoyed doing many things in his life. Family was very important to him and he always looked forward to family gatherings and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling and camping in the United States, playing cards, and spending the winters in Florida with friends and family.
Members of his family include his wife, Mariette P. (Camire) Cote, whom he married in Barre, VT on November 23rd, 1963, and would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this November. Also, his sons, Daniel S. and Madelin Cote of Hampton, NH and David J. and Sharon Cote of Nashua, NH; four grandchildren, Noah S. Cote and his wife Lydia, Drew S. Cote, Tyler J. Cote, and Cole R. Cote, three brothers, Andre, Maurice and his wife Gisele, and Pierre; along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
