Janice G. McGonagle

DUNSTABLE – Janice G. (Gregory) McGonagle, age 83, a longtime resident of Dunstable, passed away at the Lowell General Hospital on December 25, 2021.  She was the beloved wife of William “Bill” McGonagle, Sr., to whom she was married to for over 60 years.

Born in Colchester, VT on May 25, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Warner E. and Gertrude (Smith) Gregory. She was educated in the Essex Junction school system and was a graduate of Essex Junction Vermont High School.  She then attended Westbrook College, where she received a Business associate’s degree.

Janice was a homemaker who along with her husband raised their two children, Vicki and William Jr.  She enjoyed knitting, quilting, and sewing and would often make clothing, quilts, and sweaters for her family.  She loved cooking and family gatherings, especially around the holidays. Janice also looked forward to spending time outdoors with her husband Bill; gardening, camping, skiing and ice skating.

A woman of great faith, she was an active member of the Dunstable Evangelical Congregational Church for many years, and was a member of their church choir.

Surviving her in addition to her husband Bill, are a daughter and son-in-law, Victoria “Vicki” Norris and her husband Peter of Casco, ME; a son and daughter-in-law, William H. McGonagle (Bill), Jr. and his wife Julie of Jaffrey, NH; five grandchildren, Matthew Norris and his wife Samantha, Jonathan “Jon” Norris and his partner Christin Love, Sarah Ann McGonagle, Connor McGonagle, Nicole McGonagle; a brother, Robert Gregory of VT; a sister, Jane Caldwell of FL; 2 great grandchildren; Mason and Olivia Norris; and many nieces and nephews. 

In accordance with her wishes, a private burial will be held in Central Cemetery, Dunstable.
