James Lockhart Obituary

James B. Lockhart

“Find your own way”

DUNSTABLE – James B. Lockhart, age 78, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020 at the Lowell General Hospital, with his family by his side.  He was the loving husband of Julie E. (Haydon) Lockhart, to whom he had been married for 58 years.

Born in Venice, California on March 14, 1941, he was a son of the late James E. and Ila Clare Lockhart.

He was educated in the Venice school system and had attended Santa Monica University.

James had also served in the United States Air Force.

He was self-employed for many years as an engineer, having owned and operated Oak Tree Technologies.

James was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fly fishing, reading and most of all traveling the world with his wife to watch her compete in cyclocross events and cheer her on.  He was an excellent chef, and a wine connoisseur who collected a vast array of wines for his cellar and of course always enjoyed a good scotch.

Surviving him in addition to his wife Julie are a son and daughter in law, James B. Lockhart Jr. and his wife Christine of CT; a daughter and son in law, Deirdre A. Caron and her husband Mark of WV; two grandchildren, Haydon Lockhart of CT and Devin Phillips WV; two brothers and a sister in law, Chuck and Beverly Lockhart of OR and William Lockhart of CA; and many dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of his life on Saturday, March 14, from 2 to 5 PM at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Drive, Tyngsborough. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a memorial donation to New England Velodrome and Sports Complex at: http://www.nevelodrome.org/
