Gloria M. Jean, age 77, a resident of Newburyport, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, December 12, 2024, with her family by her side.
Born in Putuxent River, MD on April 25, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Ernest E. Jean and the late Shirley M. (Smith) (Jean) Saxby.
Gloria had a passion for Elvis Presley and was always listening to his music. She loved trips to the beach for seafood and always looked forward to family visits.
She is survived by five sisters, Margaret “Peggy” DeRoche and her husband Tom, Victoria Jean, Karen Briere, Shirley Ralls and her husband Michael and Angela Green and her companion Glen Peterson; a brother, Edward Jean and his companion Karen Goodrich-Birmingham; her Turning Point house sisters, Sasha, MaryAnne and Amanda; and several nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Ernest Joseph “Sonny” Jean.
The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation to the caregivers and staff at Turning Point for the excellent care provided to Gloria.
Relatives and friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough on Friday, Dec. 20, from 4 to 7 p.m. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Parish, 543 Bridge St., Lowell. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. Those wishing may make a donation in her memory to the Tuberous Sclerosis Assoc., at www.tuberous-sclerosis.org
