George R. Shapiro, age 66, a resident of Tyngsborough, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill. He was the husband of Donna (Patti) Shapiro, with who he shared 27 years of marriage.
He was born in Lowell, MA on May 20, 1959, and was the son of the late George A. and Pauline R. (Bibeault) Shapiro. He was educated in the Lowell School system and was a graduate of Greater Lowell Technical High School. George worked in the plumbing trade for his entire career, having owned and operated his own plumbing company.
He had a passion for motorcycles and always looked forward to his rides.
Surviving him in addition to his wife Donna, are five children, Michael Patti and his wife Rebecca, Christina Porter, Elizabeth Murray and her husband Joe, Maeghan Decarlo and her husband Josh and Timothy Shapiro; and six grandchildren, Kayla, Jacob, Daniel, Victoria, Kaitlyn and Gianna.
George was a devoted husband, a loving son and a generous father. He was always able to brighten a room anytime he walked in. Always willing to lend a helping hand wherever he was needed. George was well known by many, and loved by all.
Visitations will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough. George’s Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
