TYNGSBOROUGH – Francis “Frank” D. Nicosia, age 79, a longtime resident of Tyngsborough, passed away at his home on Friday, October 8, 2021, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Gloria J. (Neal) Nicosia, with whom he had been married to for 54 years.

Born in Boston, on December 20, 1941, he was the son of the late Peter and Josephine (Gilberti) Nicosia and was educated in the Boston Public School system. After high school, Frank enlisted into the U.S. Air Force and served during the Vietnam Era from 1960 until his honorable discharge in 1964.

Following his discharge Frank continued his education at Lowell Technological Institute, earning an Associate’s Degree in Business Management. 

Frank was the founder and longtime owner of the former Tyngsborough General Store and later worked at Nicosia and Associates, P.C. as a title examiner.

He was involved in town politics for many years and had served on the Tyngsborough Highway Commission and the Tyngsborough Finance Committee.  He was also a member of the Tyngsboro/Dunstable Rotary Club.

Frank was an active member of St. John’s the Evangelist Church in Chelmsford, where he had taught Religious Education for many years.

He enjoyed fishing, boating, spending summers on Newfound Lake, as well as he loved baking and cooking Italian dishes for his grandchildren.

Surviving him in addition to his loving wife Gloria, are a son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Nicole Nicosia and their children Danielle, Anthony, Joseph and Nicholas of Tyngsborough; a daughter and son-in-law, Julie Bryant and her husband Justin and their children Patrick and Sophia of Livingston, NJ; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law in Boston and Limerick, ME; as well as several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
