Eugene T. Bewig “Geno”, age 72, a resident of Tyngsborough, passed away at his home on Friday, February 9, 2024, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Judith E. (Johnson) Bewig, with whom he shared 44 wonderful years of marriage.
He was born in Cambridge MA on October 22, 1951, and was the son of the late Eugene J. and Bernadine (Fitzgerald) Bewig.
Eugene grew up in Lexington and was a graduate of Lexington High School class of 1970. After graduation he became a union laborer along with his father where he participated in the redevelopment of downtown Boston having worked on the construction of high rise office buildings in the late 1970’s and 80’s. Eugene went on to be employed by the Town of Tyngsborough where he would eventually retire having worked in the maintenance department at Tyngsborough High School for over 23 years.
He enjoyed 50’s music, cowboy shows, history and World War II. Eugene loved to travel especially road trips across the country and later cruises with his wife Judy. He also enjoyed concerts at Mohegan Sun, trips to the White mountains of New Hampshire, the beach, Bruins and Patriots games and the block party in Lexington. His true passion in his later years was spending time with his grandchildren and Camp Bewig.
Surviving him in addition to his loving wife Judy are two sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael and Amanda Bewig and Eric and Crystal Bewig; four grandchildren, Jacob, Catelyn, Brianna and Emily; an aunt, Mary O’Mara; three sisters-in-law and five brothers-in-law, many cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends.
Relatives and friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Drive, Tyngsborough, on Thursday, Feb. 15, from 4 to 7 p.m. His Funeral Service will take place on Friday morning at 10 a.m. in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Tyngsborough Memorial Cemetery.
