Elizabeth A. Bowlan
Elizabeth A. Bowlan, age 81, a Life time resident of Lowell, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022, with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert J. “Bob” Bowlan who died in 2013. Born in Lowell, on June 20, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Robert W. and Agnes A. (Mellon) Mitchell.
She was a graduate of Lowell High School and was a Captain of the Lowell High Girl Officers. Elizabeth enjoyed playing bingo and taking care of her home. She loved her family and cats.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as an Administrative Assistant at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, MA for over 30 years.
She is survived by her three children, Robin Witts of Lowell, Jeffrey Bowlan and his wife Erica of Dracut and Glenn Bowlan and his wife Eunha of Bedford, MA; five grandchildren, Daniel Witts and his wife Melanie, Ashley Witts, Kelcey Bowlan, Kaeleigh Brodeur and Verna Bowlan; her sister-in-law and best friend Cynthia Keefe and her late husband Thomas of Lowell; her lifelong friend since fifth grade, Harriet (Vlahos) St. Onge of Pelham; her dear friend Mary Keough of Hudson, NH; her brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bernice Doherty and her late Husband Jack of CO, William Boland and his late wife Anne of Dracut, and the late Dorothy Boucher; also many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Norma Boyle, Muriel Slater, William Mitchell and Donald Mitchell.
Relatives and friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough on Thursday, Sept. 8, from 10 to 12 a.m. A Funeral Home Service will take place immediately following at 12:15 p.m. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
