Dorothy M. (Green) Toner

Dorothy “Dottie” (Green) Toner, 93, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a family who loved her dearly.

Born and raised in Cambridge, Dottie was known for her outgoing personality, sharp sense of humor, and stubborn determination. She had a gift for making people laugh, never hesitated to speak her mind, and could light up a room with her stories and conversation. Her strength, resilience, and spirited nature were admired by all who knew her. Whether offering advice, sharing a joke, or standing her ground, Dottie did everything with heart and conviction.

Dottie had a deep love for art and creativity, especially painting. She found joy in bringing beauty to life through her artwork and spent many happy hours expressing herself with a paintbrush in hand. Her creativity was a reflection of the way she lived her life—with imagination, passion, and an appreciation for the world around her.

Above all, Dottie cherished her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love and guidance shaped generations. Affectionately known as “Grammy Katz” to her grandchildren and “G-Gram" to her great-grandchildren.

Dottie was predeceased by her parents, William Green and Ruth (Savage) Green-Murray, and her beloved sisters, Ruth Avery and Louise Condon.

She is survived by her sons, William Toner and his wife Kathleen M. Toner, and David Toner and his wife Kathleen A. Toner; her grandchildren, Kayla Toner, Kaitlyn Watson and her husband Randy, MaryKate Toner, Katherine Toner, Thomas Toner and his wife Kayla, Sammantha Bailey and her husband Nicholas, Heather Toner and her fiancé Al, Rosie Toner and her fiancé Patrick; and five beloved great-grandchildren, Abigail, Logan, Brycen, Maddox, and Amelia . She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Dottie lived a long and full life, leaving behind countless memories, stories, and lessons that her family will carry forward. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her spirit, humor, creativity, and determination will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

As she always said, “It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later.”

Relatives and friends are invited to come celebrate Dorothy’s life on Saturday, June 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough.  A Prayer Service will take place immediately following at 1 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity meaningful to the donor in Dottie's memory.
