Donna (Conant) Peters
“Meme”
March 1, 1942 – December 12, 2025
Donna "Meme" Peters, 83, of Nashua, NH, passed away on December 12, 2025, surrounded by her daughters and family. Born on March 1, 1942, in Nashua, NH, she was the daughter of the late H. Arlyne and William F. Conant.
To everyone who knew her, family, friends, and anyone she came across, she was simply "Meme," a name that carried as much warmth as the woman herself. Meme lived for her family. She was selfless to her core, always putting others before herself, and her life's greatest joy was making sure the people she loved were together, happy, and laughing. She remained a strong woman until the very end, embodying the resilience and grace that defined her life.
Meme raised four children, mostly as a single mother, working tirelessly to provide for them. Her strength, determination, and unwavering love shaped the foundation of her family. She had a gift for keeping everyone laughing with her quick wit and infectious humor. Her laugh lit up her entire face and was utterly contagious. She was known for making up songs and singing them loudly.
In her earlier years, Meme worked for the Department of Social Services and the Cameo Diner in Lowell, where her caring nature extended beyond her own family. Later in life, she enjoyed spending time at the casino playing the slots, often bringing along her daughters and grandchildren for the company and the joy of being together. But above all else, Meme was about family, it was her everything.
In 2006, Meme's world was forever changed when she lost her beloved son, Billy, at the age of 35. He was her baby boy, and their bond was one of profound love. After his passing, she carried his memory with her always, finding comfort in the cardinals she believed were signs of him.
Meme is survived by her three daughters: Tracey Edwards and her husband Bruce of Tyngsborough, MA; Julie Nickerson and her husband Dan of Lewiston, NY; and Kristie Troxel of Nashua, NH. She also leaves behind two brothers, J. Scott Conant and Roger H. Conant and Carol Conant, and one sister, Ellen C. MacLeod, 11 grandchildren and inherited grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by her love. She was predeceased by her son, William E. Peters, her sister Cherrie C. Bortz, her son-in-law, Glenn W. Troxel, her brother-in-laws A. Russell MacLeod and Paul Bortz, and her sister-in-law Janice A. Conant.
A small, intimate funeral service for immediate family was held to honor Meme's life.
Meme's family takes comfort knowing that she is now reunited with her Billy boy, together again.
