David F. Crockett

 

MOULTONBOROUGH, NH – David F. Crockett, age 86, a longtime resident of Moultonborough, NH, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022.  He was the husband of the late Yvette A. (Couillard) Crockett, who died on April 27, 2022.

Born in Lowell on April 4, 1936, he was a son of the late E. Francis and Helen M. (Gerow) Crockett and was a graduate of Keith Academy.

David was a proud veteran of the U. S. Navy having served from 1955 until his honorable discharge in 1957.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, playing horseshoes, softball, snowmobiling, boating and camping with his family.  He also enjoyed bowling and playing puzzles. 

He was a member of the Lions Club, the 50 Plus Club, the Snowmobile Club and the Knights of Columbus.  He was also affiliated with the USS William R. Rush Tin Can Soldiers.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed for many years as a driver and mechanic by Exxon Mobil.

David is survived by six daughters and four sons-in-law, Gail M. and Jack Howe of Lowell, Karen A. and Paul Welcome of Lowell, Kathleen J. Lafreniere of Merrimack, Mary H. Crockett of Pepperell, Diane B. and Dennis Dixon of Lowell and Judith Y. and James Hand of Gainsville, GA; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas A. and Susan Crockett of Haverhill; ten grandchildren, Stephen Crockett and wife Carmen, Renee Cullen and husband Rob, Joseph Welcome, Kaitlin Myers and husband Brandon, Matthew Lafreniere and wife Julie, Erin Dixon, James Dixon, Grace Crockett, Sean Crockett and Emma Crockett; two great grandchildren, Barbara Yvette and Jason David; and many nieces and nephews.  He was the father of the late James D. Crockett and brother of the late William and Francis Crockett.

 

Relatives and friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME on Thursday, Oct. 6, from 4 to 8 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, 144 E. Merrimack St., Lowell. Committal Services with Military Honors will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a memorial donation to the Disabled American Veterans, 860 Dolwick Drive, Erlanger, Kentucky 41018 or at www.DAV.org.
