Daniel C. “Jake” Gavlik, age 79, a lifelong resident of Tyngsborough, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the High Pointe Hospice in Haverhill, with his loving family by his side, after a courageous and hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer for over two and a half years. He was the beloved husband of Lorraine A. (Bergeron) Gavlik, with whom he shared 58 wonderful years of marriage.
Born in Lowell on May 27, 1945, he was a son of the late Kazimiase “Dee” and Pauline (Beaudreau) Gavlik and brother of the late Paul Gavlik.
Jake worked his entire life in the sheet metal industry at various shops and retired in 2020 from Apahouser Inc. located in Marlboro.
His precious time was being around family, gardening, golfing, and taking trips to Las Vegas and cruises in the Caribbean with his wife and their travel companions, Dennis and Joan Santos.
Surviving him in addition to Lorraine are a son, David Gavlik and his wife Robin of Milford, MA; a daughter, Karen Bernier and her husband George of Dracut, MA; three grandchildren, Reese Gavlik, Paige Gavlik and Drew Bernier; a sister-in-law, Jean Ireson and her husband Charlie; a brother-in-law, Robert Bergeron and his wife Stacy; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Drive, Tyngsborough, on Thursday, March 6, from 3 to 7 p.m. His Funeral Service will take place on Friday morning at 10 a.m. in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Tyngsborough Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in his memory to the LGH Cancer Center at https://www.tuftsmedicine.org/giving
