Daniel V. Houlné

Daniel V. Houlné, age 72, a resident of Merrimack, NH and a former longtime resident of Tyngsborough, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.  He was the beloved husband of Margaret “Peggy” (Lewis) Houlné, with whom he recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. 

Born in Lowell on August 25, 1950, he was a son of the late Maurice and Catherine (Holmes) Houlné. He was graduated high school from St. Joseph’s in Lowell and was a graduate of Leslie College.

He worked for many years as a software engineer, having retired from JP Morgan Chase.  He was also a former member of the Rotary Club of Tyngsboro/Dunstable.

Dan loved nature, traveling, hiking and camping.  He enjoyed listening to music, reading books and watching movies. He loved all sports, especially football. Dan enjoyed technology and learning new things. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends. 

Surviving him in addition to his loving wife Peggy are two daughters and two sons-in-law, Sarah Pieroni and her husband Steve of Merrimack, NH and Annie Howells and her husband Jim of Merrimack, NH; four grandchildren, Annelise Pieroni, Ella Howells, Amelia Pieroni and Cate Howells; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Joseph and Nancy Houlné of Rummey, NH and Martin Houlné of Litchfield, NH; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Maurine and John Costa of Hudson, NH and Mary and Stephen Krom of Nashua, NH; also many nieces, nephews and dear friends. 

Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 18, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME 4 Cassaway Dr., Tyngsborough. A blessing for Dan will be offered in the Funeral Home at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the American Lung Association at www.lung.org
