Cheryl Tiano

Cheryl (Martel) Tiano, age 74, a resident of Tyngsborough for 38 years, passed away peacefully at her home on June 7, 2023, with her husband and sons by her side. She was the beloved wife of Thomas Tiano, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage.

Born in Lynn on February 27, 1949, she was a daughter of the late George and Florence (Hollingsworth) Martel.  She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Lynn. 

Prior to her retirement, she worked in the food service industry as a customer service representative.

Cheryl loved and was completely devoted to her family and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. Her sacred time was cooking family dinners on Sunday afternoons, when all were welcomed into her home.

In addition to her husband Tom, Cheryl is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Tiano Jr. and his wife Rebecca of Nashua, and Jack Tiano and his wife Jill of Merrimack, NH; thirteen grandchildren; a brother and sister-in law, Stephen Martel and his wife Susan of Groveland, MA; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Maureen Hutchins and her husband Michael of Derry, NH and Denise Giroux and her husband Sam Pollini of Epping, NH.  She also leaves several nieces and nephews, and friends and neighbors within the community.

Relatives and friends will be received at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Drive, Tyngsborough on Tuesday, June 13, from 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.  Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately following at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 95 Lakeview Avenue Tyngsborough.  Burial will follow in the Lowell Cemetery, Lowell.  In lieu of flowers or charitable donations, please send your prayers to Cheryl in Heaven.
